l believe people are the best solutions to their problems and with the proper supports, individuals can accomplish anything. I'm comfortable with treating a host of challenges: including sexual and emotional traumas, mood and depression disorders, anxiety disorders, relationship issues, divorce, attention deficits and grief and loss.

I love working with children and families and am comfortable working with individuals of all ages: adults, adolescents and children. Although, I specialize in child and adolescent trauma and learning issues, I also work with individuals and couples to identify their emotional needs and support them.

About Candyce

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have worked in the mental health field in many different capacities for over a decade. These include residential treatment for adolescent and young adult males, care coordination, child welfare, veteran’s care, crisis work, and adolescent and adult psychotherapy. I am comfortable treating most presenting problems and I have an eclectic and holistic approach to counseling. I work with clients to meet the goals that they have for their lives, whatever those may be. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, and have had success with adolescent males and couples in particular. My goal is to foster a strong trusting relationship with clients so that they feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment so they can work through the change process. I assist clients to utilize their strengths to overcome the challenges that bring them to counseling and find balance in their life and relationships.

I am also trained in divorce mediation through the Northwestern School of Professional Studies. I am a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts which requires me to maintain continuing education credits for membership in addition to my continuing education credits for my clinical licensure. I believe that often times when people become adversarial about issues in separation and divorce, they still share a common interest but have different positions. In mediation, I work to identify those common interests and come to a mutually agreeable resolution that works for both parties. Through the process, I empower both parties to keep the best interest of any children involved and come up with unique solutions that work for their individual situation.
